ShanghaiTech-SIAIS Bioforum 2014 Held in Shanghai

From November 17th to 20th, 2014 ShanghaiTech-SIAIS Bioforum was held by SIAIS in partnership with Amgen, which attracted more than 300 representatives from industry and academia around the world. Mianheng Jiang, President of ShanghaiTech and Shanghai Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Zhu Chen, Academician of CAS, Vice-Chairman of the standing committee of 12th National People’s Congress of People’s Republic of China as well as Member of SIAIS Scientific Governance Board attended the forum.

Michael Sela, renowned immunologist from Weizmann Institute of Science made a keynote speech titled “From Polymers and Proteins to Immunology and Cancer” and



Zhu Chen, made an academic report on “Synergistic Target Therapy Against Human Cancer in an Era of ‘Health for All’: Lesson Learnt from Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia and Beyond”.

Jointly organized by SIAIS and Amgen, the four-day forum on the theme of cellular processing of information invited over 20 leading scientists and academicians to share the essence of their research, covering a broad range of fields from macromolecular structure, signal pathways, antibody drug research to molecular medicine. It aims to be a platform for researchers to exchange the latest development and technology of life science, thus promoting the growth of biomedical industry.
