James Rothman, SIAIS Distinguished Professor-in-Residence, Nobel Laureate, visited SIAIS from May 17 to 22 and participated in multiple academic activities.
Prof. Rothman attended a SIAIS internal seminar on May 8th, where SIAIS young scientists presented the recent progresses of their labs, and had one-to-one discussions with the faculty and students. Later on he had a lab meeting with the team of his own lab at SIAIS. The next day, he met with ShanghaiTech senior leaders and experts to discuss research collaborations. He and his wife Joy Hirsch, Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobiology at Yale University, and Director of The Brain Function Laboratory at Yale School of Medicine, also attended the farewell party for the ShanghaiTech OM (Odyssey of the Mind) team leaving for the OM 2015 World Finals.
