Biography

Dr. Wang received his BS degree (2005) and Ph.D. degree (2009) from Nankai University. He was a Research Assistant Professor in Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing from 2014-2018, and an Academic Visitor in the Division of Structural Biology in Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine and Oxford Particle Imaging Centre of Oxford University, UK from 2014-2015. He rose to a Research Associate Professor (2018) and Research Professor (IBP Fellow, Principal Investigator, 2019) in Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He joined ShanghaiTech University in 2020 as an Assistant Professor of School of Life Science and Technology and a Principal Investigator of Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS).

Research Interests

Dr. Wang committed to studying the molecular composition, structural characteristics and functional mechanisms of the energy metabolism system of pathogenic microorganisms such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Helicobacter pylori at multiple scales by using cryo-electron microscopy and other imaging techniques. In addition, through interfering biological energy metabolism system, we carry out drug screening and development to fight the drug-resistant pathogens and tumors.
